The Go Out and Live [GOAL] Community Career Centre is a career consultancy that serves the Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts of West Bengal. We work with preteens (< 13 years) and teenagers (13 years to 17 years) as they shape their future.
GOAL Community Career Centre believes in the adage “it takes a village to raise a child”. Present day technological advancements and our pace of life has led to a decline in social interactions. This agency aims to harness the feeling of community and collectively equip our children with the information, skills, values, and beliefs they will require to make their decisions about their future.

Hi there! My name is Lekha Limbu and I am the founder member of this “exciting” initiative Go Out and Live [GOAL]. The village, mentioned earlier, is some way away but I have set out to get the ball rolling. "Who am I and can I get it done?" Well! I have lived the two plus decades of my career setting goals for myself, achieving them, and then moving forth to newer goals. I have worked in the fields of Advertising, Multimedia, Instructional Design, and Pharma and these goals have taken me around India and abroad.
From earning my Master’s degree in Learning Science and Technology (University of Sydney), to getting published in Computers & Education, to working in documentaries, and later in people development, I have always followed my dreams. My friends tease me that a rolling stone gathers no moss. But this constant motion has certainly given me a lot of exposure, experience, and fresh perspectives.
My new vision is to encourage and support you to find a career that fits your aspirations, abilities, and skills. I hope you and many others join me and see this goal to reality.
Lekha is one of the most positive people I know. She has a sense of clarity and confidence in her area. Simple interactions with her can turn challenges into opportunity. As a coach, she asks great questions and gives the right advice even when it isn’t what you want to hear. But, isn’t that what we really want in a coach?
It is my great pleasure to pen this short note. Having worked with Lekha at Pune, I have known her as someone who is highly enthusiastic about making learning fun. Having worked across India and Singapore, she has an intimate understanding of the corporate world. As she embarks on this new venture of assisting the young in designing their own careers, I am sure that she will empower many to plan and achieve their career goals.
Lekha has a natural gift of connecting with people. People always feel comfortable and valued in her presence. When she engages with people, she gives them her full attention because she’s truly interested in them. She’s not looking to impress them—instead she wants to know who they are, what they are saying, what they think, and how they see the world. And she listens with an open mind. These are qualities, I believe, that makes for a great counsellor.
I have known Lekha for a little over two decades now. Though our working relationship was of less than five years, we have remained friends and have had lengthy conversations over the years. One regular topic has been the education sector. She has often expressed the desire to be of help to aspiring students hoping to achieve higher education. I am sure she will be a great support to young students in need of an enthusiastic supporter.
